At Robert Dyas, as we continue to evolve our multi-channel experience, we are looking for a high-impact Merchandiser to take full accountability for a category’s financial performance.
In this role, you aren’t just "managing stock"-you are the engine room of our profitability. You’ll partner with our Buying team to turn departmental strategies into commercial realities.
As a Merchandiser, you are the architect of the category’s lifecycle. You will lead the way in:
Profit Maximisation: You’ll own the budget. From monitoring daily performance to proposing bold markdown strategies, your goal is simple: maximise margin and minimise clearance.
Strategic Range Planning: Working alongside Buyers, you’ll use historical data and forward-looking trends to build a range that optimises space and delights our customers.
Inventory Mastery: In a convenience-led business, availability is everything. You will manage the 'Open to Buy' (OTB), oversee stock flow through our Distribution Centres, and ensure our shelves (physical and digital) are never empty.
Supplier & Team Leadership: You’ll build robust relationships with global suppliers and, more importantly, mentor the next generation of talent within your trading team.
Commercial Thinker: You see the story behind the numbers and can pivot strategies quickly based on trading issues or opportunities.
Availability Obsessed: You understand that for a convenience retailer, out-of-stock means missed opportunities. You are driven to exceed availability targets.
Collaborative Leader: You excel at building cross-functional relationships, from the Warehouse to the Boardroom.
Detail Oriented: You can manage a complex critical path without breaking a sweat, ensuring every product arrives exactly when it should.
